Residents invited to share their views on community safety in Adur and Worthing

Released: Monday, 24 November 2025

Do you have a question about policing and community safety in Adur and Worthing?

The Joint Overview and Scrutiny Committee (JOSC) will be scrutinising the work of the Adur & Worthing Safer Communities Partnership at its next meeting and is inviting residents to ask questions during the public question time section.

The Adur & Worthing Safer Communities Partnership is a multi-agency partnership, including Adur & Worthing Councils and Sussex Police, which aims to bring organisations together to make Adur and Worthing safer places to live, work and visit.

At the next meeting, which takes place on Thursday 4th December in the Gordon Room at Worthing Town Hall from 6.30pm, partnership co-chairs Cllr Rosey Whorlow, Worthing’s cabinet member for safety, equalities and inclusion, and Chief Inspector James Davidson from Sussex Police, will report on the partnership’s work and answer questions from the committee.

JOSC is an elected watchdog, comprising councillors from across Adur and Worthing, and is responsible for holding decision-makers - both within and outside the councils - to account. The committee has the responsibility under the Police and Justice Act 2006 to scrutinise crime and disorder and the work of the partnership.
